Install GQORA POS (Windows till)

Follow these steps on each till PC. You only need the installer, your license key (from email), and your API URL (demo, managed, or self-hosted).

Mac laptop (preview): the Flutter till lives in the source repo as src/pos_desktop_flutter. On the Mac run flutter run -d macos, set API to https://demo.gqora.com/api, then cashier PIN 1234. There is no Mac installer yet. The shipping till on Windows is still this page.

Before you start

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
License key from your purchase email (looks like PC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
API URL for your restaurant (we email this for managed hosting; for trial use the demo URL below)

Step 1 — Download the till

Use this official installer only (not a random GitHub page copy-paste into the license field later):

Download PosDesktop-win-Setup.exe

Other packages (portable ZIP, LocalDB installer): all releases.

Step 2 — Run the installer

Open the downloaded PosDesktop-win-Setup.exe.
If Windows SmartScreen asks, choose More info → Run anyway (signed release builds are from our release repo).
Finish the wizard, then open GQORA POS from the Start menu.

First install tip

If you see '<' is an invalid start of a value, the till is talking to a website instead of the API. Set API URL to a real POS host ending in /api (not gqora.com, www, or licenses).

Step 3 — Set the API server (your restaurant data)

This is where orders and menu live — not the Shop.

Self-hosted on your VPS	`https://YOUR-DOMAIN/api` from server setup

On first launch, if the till asks for an API server, enter the URL above. You can also create/edit:

New installs default to the shared demo API. Change ApiBaseUrl when you move to managed hosting or your own server.

Step 4 — Activate the license

When the Activate this till window appears (or open Setup → License), paste your license key.
In License server, enter exactly:

Leave it as that default if it is already filled in.
Click Activate.
Sign in with a GQORA Admin user once stations exist on your server.

Common mistake

Do not paste the installer download link (anything with github.com or PosDesktop-win-Setup.exe) into License server.

Correct license server: https://licenses.gqora.com
Installer link: only for downloading the app in Step 1

If you see a wall of HTML starting with <!DOCTYPE html> or “Oh no · GitHub”, the wrong URL was used — fix License server and try again.

Step 5 — Extra tills

Repeat Steps 1–4 on each PC.
Use the same license key and the same API URL.
If activation says the terminal limit is reached, buy an Extra Terminal or ask support@gqora.com to raise the limit.
